HI FROM CAMEROON

Hello everybody!!!

I'm in Cameroon now for almost 2 months for my internship in a private equity firm. It's an interesting job but the great thing is that I'm back after 5 years. I was quite surprised of how thing can "not change at all". I took a picture of a fight on the street which is quite common for the men doing small jobs in town; but I also took some other nice pics. Just take a look!!

We've had to shut down the forum

Hello people
As you may remember, the ESNAgder forum got a lot of SPAM postings and I've finally had enough. So we are shutting the forum down, and instead we have started a FACEBOOK group. Hopefully the facebook group and this blog will be a great place for people to meet and hook up.

Have a great summer!

Eurovision Song Contest 2007

Hey Guys,

It is time to break the silence. We are getting close to another Eurovision song contest and this year it is going to be held in Finland.I saw some of this year’s songs ,and my favourite is absolutely is Romania. The song is English,Italian,Spanish,Russian,French and Romanian. Just watch this song.Enjoy it :)

Turkey is represented by Kenan Dogulu with the song -Shake it up Shkerim-.I do not give him any chance t but if he performs well on the stage,he can be in the first ten.The song is in English except fort he world –Sheker-.That means sugar in English :)

But,my favourite song of all times is coming from Lithuania. We watched this song last year together in Saint OlavsVei together with Tanya,Karine,Mirka,Gosia and Huseyin. What a self-confidence :)

Have fun

Yusuf

Oh, another thing---

Just remembered that you can also find me at facebook. Great place to network.

...and yes, I am bored today, hence the multi-posting. You know, writing a masterthesis isn't as fun as you would think it would be. And now my ass has fallen asleep from sitting down for several hours. Isn't that just nice to know?

Ciao for now.

Kudos to Hus and Yus

Hello to you all!
Just wanted to officially brag about our boys for starting this blog. It is a wonderful idea, which I hope that the ESN can help run in order to keep it up for years and years to come when Hus and Yus no longer can maintain the site.

You are dearly missed at HiA, you were a really good bunch (my favorites for sure, but sshhh - don't tell the current erasmus! =P), and HiA just isn't the same without you.

I hope you are all doing OK - I've linked to my bebo so if you like, you can see me there.

Ha det bra

Ei ole koiraa karvoihin katsominen.

Spring came too early this year. It's beginning of April and we have flowers and some trees are making leafes! crazy. For one week the weather was really sunny and warm (for our standards). I went to the roof and just enjoyed the sun. It was nice to be so high that no one from the other blog of flats could see me. Today the wind was freezing cold and little snowflakes danced in the sun.

I don't have any lectures left for this spring. I just have to teach 6 more hours and then do some projects with one girl who is a perfectionist. It's so frustrating... On May we'll have one week meetings, seminars etc. I'll start my summerjob 16th of May. I'm going to work in the Language Center in our university! Most of the work is going to be nice inside work but then on August I'll be hanging out with Erasmus students. So if you have friends, who are coming to Jyväskylä and are taking the language course before starting the studies... I'll organize all the freetime activity for them! Because of the work I won't be travelling at all, but I'm waiting for Gosia and maybe Stefi to come to visit me! If someone else finds itself in Finland, call me.

I still have to study one more year... but autumn looks a little bit lighter bc I'm going to go to Jethro Tull's concerst on september! (I know that no one knows this band)

Erasmus Party

Hey Everbody,

It has been really long time that i could not write here. There is some information about me.. On Friday, me and Huseyin met before the Erasmus party. He was supposed to come to the party but as always he was so sick and tired :P

Part was fun and so different. We were about 50 people and it was supposed to be a clubber party but at midnight, two bellydancers came up to dance floor and we were all surprised. It has been a culture schock for Erasmus students. Anyway here are the some picture before and after party. Take Care
Love,

Yusuf

Hi from France

Hi everybody !
First of all, i would like to thank huseyin for this good idea, to open a blog for exchange students was a necessity :)
It's strange and good in the same time to read news from all of you. And pictures is the best of everything, i was so enthusiastic to see recent pictures from kristiansand, soooooo good memories ! I have seen Victoria yesterday with Leslie (in France), we had dinner in a restaurant. She spends a few days in france to see friends, and she was in our hometown, Orleans, great!
Some quick news from me : i'm working now for 3 weeks in a huge pharmaceutical company called Sanofi Aventis where i am financial controler. Work is interesting (even if i know you think it's boring...), good feeling for this beginning, i hope it will the same for the future. I'm working a lot, and i have to drive 1 hour to go to work, so trust me, i'm sleeping well after work :) It should change soon since my girlfriend and i would like to rent a house between Orleans and my job.
I'm of course still doing some music during my free time (i could become crazy with all these numbers), we have played with my band 2 weeks ago, here come a picture :

You can notice that i'm not always dressed like that, we are all dressed up on stage :)
I hope all of you are going fine, and really i would like to see you soon, whatever the country is, to share good vibrations as we have done in Kristiansand !!!
take care all of you
Alexis

picnic

Hey guys,

I would really like to be in Norway now. I am now sending some of the picnic pictures last year.It is good to refresh our minds.

The picture with Alexis and Karine are together is the place where Ayça was jumping down into the sea for 1000 NOK. At that time, we did not have that much money, so we asked some people if they could contribute to us.Anyway,i really think that,if we had that much money, they were not enough brave to jump down :)

Hugs,

Yusuf

Hello from Norway

As many of you know - I am in Norway now, and during these 8 days while I am here I managed to experience dramatic changes in weather, illness, many events and International day and cooking evening :) I met Mette and she told me to say hello to you all and also to say to Hus and Yus that it is a great idea to create such a blog, she is glad to hear that we remember them and keep in contact with each other :)
Well, i like here and it is fun to meet new people, but as i once told - it is not the place that makes it great, but the people who makes it great :) It is nice to visite all the places where we all went last year, but it is not the same... Ayca remember the time when you told that you will take a swim and that i join you if you will :D pfffuuuu...we did not do it, so it is a great reason to come back once ;) I will attached some pictures, which i took on sunday, but now the snow here is so deep, that it is better to sit at home with a cup of hot tea and in company of good people, because global warming just passed by this part of Norway :)
take care, hugs

Uncle Yusuf

Hey everyone,

As i see, we are getting more populated day by day. Since i came back to Turkey, the most interesting event was birth of my nephew 20 days ago. I am so excited, cos this is my first uncle experience.even i did not know how to take a baby in my arms. He looks like me :P At least,he likes sleeping too much like me.Hahahah

Other from that, in the school we established exchange students club and we had really good parties. Huseyin was also invited. I will send the pictures of this term to the blog later. And sorry Michelle, not keeping my promise about the pictures.Hahaha i am so lazy.

And Karine, why are u going to Norway, instead of Turkey. We are stil waiting you to come to Turkey :)

Hugs,

Be Cool !

I am sure most of you feel the effects of global warming more than ever. In Turkey we do :( There is a website which is built in order to inform people all around the world about the reasons and possible results of global warming. There are things that each of us can do in our daily lives. Have a look!

Thanks :)

Hi again, thanks for everyone who contribute to our blog by their posts or memberships.
Actually I had sent an invitation to all my contacts. If you also have the contact information of someone that I couldn't reach, please send her/him our blog so that we can populate here more quickly:) I am attaching a map which shows the countries that our blog is visited from. Size of the circles are dependent on the number of the visitors :P

PS: Yus is not able to use Internet nowadays since he has gone to a mountain for skiing:) So he won't be able to answer your comments or posts for a few days.

take care

Hello :D

Hi, hope u're all fine.

I'm very happy that someone decided to do this blog. For those who don't remember me, I am the african girl with short hair. I miss a lot Norway & u guys. I'm taking the master degree & the organization at my university is a mess year, I'm glad that this is the last year. Sometimes we have a lot of free time in a week , just for the other week to be busy from 9 am to 7pm everyday :( Nevertheless, I'll miss the "studentship" when the time will come to leave university. Wish you a good 2nd semester.

Keep in touch.

Merci Huseyin for this blog.

Hi from Finland

Hello everyone!

Today it's only -10C in Finland and it feels so warm!!! I even walked outside without a hat. After last week this truly feels warm. We enjoyed the temperature of -35C last week and I can say that it was pretty cold outside. In that temperature eyelashes got stuck to each other, it was impossible to take cloves away, the cars didn't want to start... Hopefully we don't have to experience -35C again this winter.

The fall semester was really busy and the beginning of the spring semester has been similar (the semester changes in the Christmas). I've taught in the school (meaning: I've learned how to teach). Mostly I have taught teenagers (13-14 years old) and they don't really love to learn Finnish. I wonder why... Only two more weeks to go and then: goodbye you ungrateful little bastards (meaning: the pupils)!

Mirka
(the little Finn)

snow in Kristiansand

Hi all! It's been so long since we met in Kristiansand...
D'u still remember me?nisa, little girl from Indonesia. I'm still here in Kristiansand and finishing my master program. now, we got a lot of snow here. Just like past year...but just fewer. The temperature varied on -3 to -5 C. It's so cold!! and...still snow showers out there...
For you whom ever lived in Kongsgard Alle 7, here I attached snow showers picture from the building.
Ok, that's all I can tell you guys....nice to know you again! thanks to Hus who manage this blog. Keep in touch ya!!

Sunday, February 11, 2007

Hi there!

What a great idea, Hus! It's good someone thought about creating such a blog.
I'll try to check the page regularly and keep in touch with all of you that still remember me (I'm sure some of you don't;) but it's ok:)
It seems everyone is still thinking about Norway... It's with me almost everyday - it's been really difficult to get used to being a "normal" student again here in Poland. Those 5 months in Kristiansand have relaxed me so much that I'm still fighting with myself to do all the uni stuff on time... And the worst thing is that I have to serioulsy get down to writing my MA thesis. It feels like there's never enough time to do all the other things, not to mention serious studying:P
It's good to hear that you are all fine. Some of you are missing winter and snow - we got some snow this week, finally:D Karine - you're going to Kr again? I envy you so much!!! Have fun!
Yes, and sorry for not keeping in touch with some people:( I keep blaming it on student life and uni... This year's the last one for me so there's lots of things I still want to do and unfortunately also those that I have to do:/ Hopefully we'll be in touch now thx to the blog.
Take care! Ha det bra! :*

:)

Hello, hello :)
I see that some of us did not get rid of some habits - not to sleep during the night :) But if the results of this "not sleeping" are such blogs then - do not sleep guys at all :P
I wont repeat how much i miss you, i think we all feel the same, it is just not possible to erase 5 months of our life in Norway...especially when those were so great...
I am going to Kristiansand this Wednesday, i would say it will be like going back to the past with only one difference - there wont be none of you... But i will be able to participate in International cooking evening - so lets see if there be any of meals you have made last year :D i look forward especially for the desserts :D as you see some things in me do not change :)
And i only hope that this blog will be visited by you and not forgotten after some time...
Take care, miss you
Hugs

hi ;)

Hey guys! It has been a long time that we couldn't communicate. We thought that it would be great to share our memories, videos, photos or new stories. Blogging seems to be one of the easiest way of doing that. It takes just 5 mins to get a blogger account (Google Account) and start to share!

Please send me your e-mail adress to which I can send invitation!
